Learn about the technical advantages of the Kinetis MCU portfolio based on ARM® Cortex® cores and get hands-on with Freescale and third-party hardware and software enablement tools which will reduce development costs and time to market. Attendees will use the Freescale Freedom development board for Kinetis K64 MCUs during the hands-on labs.

Hands-on Labs Include:

  • Examine the functionality of the Freescale MQX™ Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) and get ready for the worldwide transition to the next generation of the Internet (IPv6), with the new IPv6 extension. The Freescale Freedom development board will be used to show the MQX RTOS configuration for proper initialization and demonstration of the I2C communication with sensor and GPIO manipulation. Learn how the application performs the reading acceleration and magnetic data from the external FXOS8700CQ sensor.
  • Learn about the Real-Time TCP/IP Communication Suite (RTCS), which provides a rich assortment of TCP/IP networking application protocols and uses the Freescale MQX RTOS drivers for Ethernet and serial connectivity. Using the Freescale Freedom development board configure the RTCS with IPv6 functionality and HTTP service.
  • Observe how the user-friendly real-time debug monitor and data visualization tool, FreeMASTER supports data visualization from external FXOS8700CQ accelerometer and magnetometer sensors. In addition, see how easy it is to create powerful graphics with the PEG Lite tool.
